Sura: AL‑KAHF

Aya : 65

And they found a servant from among Our servants [i.e., al-Khidhr] to whom We had given mercy from Us and had taught him from Us a [certain] knowledge.

Sura: AL‑KAHF

Aya : 66

Moses said to him, "May I follow you on [the condition] that you teach me from what you have been taught of sound judgement?"

Sura: AL‑KAHF

Aya : 67

He said, "Indeed, with me you will never be able to have patience.

Sura: AL‑KAHF

Aya : 68

And how can you have patience for what you do not encompass in knowledge?"

Sura: AL‑KAHF

Aya : 69

[Moses] said, "You will find me, if AllŒh wills, patient, and I will not disobey you in [any] order."

Sura: AL‑KAHF

Aya : 70

He said, "Then if you follow me, do not ask me about anything until I make to you about it mention [i.e., explanation]."

Sura: AL‑KAHF

Aya : 71

So they set out, until when they had embarked on the ship, he [i.e., al-Khidhr] tore it open. [Moses] said, "Have you torn it open to drown its people? You have certainly done a grave thing."

Sura: AL‑KAHF

Aya : 72

[Al-Khidhr] said, "Did I not say that with me you would never be able to have patience?"

Sura: AL‑KAHF

Aya : 73

[Moses] said, "Do not blame me for what I forgot and do not overwhelm me in my matter with difficulty."

Sura: AL‑KAHF

Aya : 74

So they set out, until when they met a boy, he [i.e., al-Khidhr] killed him. [Moses] said, "Have you killed a pure soul for other than [having killed] a soul? You have certainly done a deplorable thing."

Sura: AL‑KAHF

Aya : 75

[Al-Khidhr] said, "Did I not tell you that with me you would never be able to have patience?"

Sura: AL‑KAHF

Aya : 76

[Moses] said, "If I should ask you about anything after this, then do not keep me as a companion. You have obtained from me an excuse."

Sura: AL‑KAHF

Aya : 77

So they set out, until when they came to the people of a town, they asked its people for food, but they refused to offer them hospitality. And they found therein a wall about to collapse, so he [i.e., al-Khidhr] restored it. [Moses] said, "If you wished, you could have taken for it a payment."

Sura: AL‑KAHF

Aya : 78

[Al-Khidhr] said, "This is parting between me and you. I will inform you of the interpretation of that about which you could not have patience.

Sura: AL‑KAHF

Aya : 79

As for the ship, it belonged to poor people working at sea. So I intended to cause defect in it as there was after them a king who seized every [good] ship by force.

Sura: AL‑KAHF

Aya : 80

And as for the boy, his parents were believers, and we feared that he would overburden them by transgression and disbelief.

Sura: AL‑KAHF

Aya : 81

So we intended that their Lord should substitute for them one better than him in purity and nearer to mercy.

Sura: AL‑KAHF

Aya : 82

And as for the wall, it belonged to two orphan boys in the city, and there was beneath it a treasure for them, and their father had been righteous. So your Lord intended that they reach maturity and extract their treasure, as a mercy from your Lord. And I did it not of my own accord. That is the interpretation of that about which you could not have patience."

Sura: MARYAM

Aya : 51

And mention in the Book, Moses. Indeed, he was chosen, and he was a messenger and a prophet.[1]

1- A messenger (ras´l) is one who was charged by AllŒh to reform society. A prophet (nab¥) is one who received revelation from AllŒh, the latter being more numerous than the former.

Sura: MARYAM

Aya : 52

And We called him from the side of the mount[1] at [his] right and brought him near, confiding [to him].

1- Mount Sinai.

Sura: MARYAM

Aya : 53

And We gave him out of Our mercy his brother Aaron as a prophet.

Sura: ṬĀ HĀ

Aya : 9

And has the story of Moses reached you?

Sura: ṬĀ HĀ

Aya : 10

When he saw a fire and said to his family, "Stay here; indeed, I have perceived a fire; perhaps I can bring you a torch or find at the fire some guidance."

Sura: ṬĀ HĀ

Aya : 11

And when he came to it, he was called, "O Moses,

Sura: ṬĀ HĀ

Aya : 12

Indeed, I am your Lord, so remove your sandals. Indeed, you are in the blessed valley of $uwŒ.

Sura: ṬĀ HĀ

Aya : 13

And I have chosen you, so listen to what is revealed [to you].

Sura: ṬĀ HĀ

Aya : 14

Indeed, I am AllŒh. There is no deity except Me, so worship Me and establish prayer for My remembrance.

Sura: ṬĀ HĀ

Aya : 15

Indeed, the Hour is coming I almost conceal it[1] so that every soul may be recompensed according to that for which it strives.

1- Meaning that AllŒh (subúŒnahu wa taÔŒlŒ) keeps knowledge of the Hour hidden from everyone except Himself.

Sura: ṬĀ HĀ

Aya : 16

So do not let one avert you from it[1] who does not believe in it and follows his desire, for you [then] would perish.

1- From preparation for the Hour or for the Hereafter.

Sura: ṬĀ HĀ

Aya : 17

And what is that in your right hand, O Moses?"
