Surata: AN-NAJM 

O versículo : 42

وَأَنَّ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ ٱلۡمُنتَهَىٰ

And that to your Lord is the finality



Surata: AN-NAJM 

O versículo : 43

وَأَنَّهُۥ هُوَ أَضۡحَكَ وَأَبۡكَىٰ

And that it is He who makes [one] laugh and weep



Surata: AN-NAJM 

O versículo : 44

وَأَنَّهُۥ هُوَ أَمَاتَ وَأَحۡيَا

And that it is He who causes death and gives life



Surata: AN-NAJM 

O versículo : 45

وَأَنَّهُۥ خَلَقَ ٱلزَّوۡجَيۡنِ ٱلذَّكَرَ وَٱلۡأُنثَىٰ

And that He creates the two mates the male and female



Surata: AN-NAJM 

O versículo : 46

مِن نُّطۡفَةٍ إِذَا تُمۡنَىٰ

From a sperm-drop when it is emitted



Surata: AN-NAJM 

O versículo : 47

وَأَنَّ عَلَيۡهِ ٱلنَّشۡأَةَ ٱلۡأُخۡرَىٰ

And that [incumbent] upon Him is the other [i.e., next] creation.



Surata: AN-NAJM 

O versículo : 48

وَأَنَّهُۥ هُوَ أَغۡنَىٰ وَأَقۡنَىٰ

And that it is He who enriches and suffices



Surata: AN-NAJM 

O versículo : 49

وَأَنَّهُۥ هُوَ رَبُّ ٱلشِّعۡرَىٰ

And that it is He who is the Lord of Sirius[1].


1- A star worshipped by some of the pagan Arabs.


Surata: AN-NAJM 

O versículo : 50

وَأَنَّهُۥٓ أَهۡلَكَ عَادًا ٱلۡأُولَىٰ

And that He destroyed the first [people of] ÔAad.



Surata: AN-NAJM 

O versículo : 51

وَثَمُودَاْ فَمَآ أَبۡقَىٰ

And Tham´d and He did not spare [them]



Surata: AN-NAJM 

O versículo : 52

وَقَوۡمَ نُوحٖ مِّن قَبۡلُۖ إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُواْ هُمۡ أَظۡلَمَ وَأَطۡغَىٰ

And the people of Noah before. Indeed, it was they who were [even] more unjust and oppressing.



Surata: AN-NAJM 

O versículo : 53

وَٱلۡمُؤۡتَفِكَةَ أَهۡوَىٰ

And the overturned towns[1] He hurled down.


1- Whose inhabitants defied Prophet Lot.


Surata: AN-NAJM 

O versículo : 54

فَغَشَّىٰهَا مَا غَشَّىٰ

And covered them by that which He covered.[1]


1- i.e., a rain of stones.


Surata: AN-NAJM 

O versículo : 55

فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكَ تَتَمَارَىٰ

Then which of the favors of your Lord do you doubt?



Surata: AN-NAJM 

O versículo : 56

هَٰذَا نَذِيرٞ مِّنَ ٱلنُّذُرِ ٱلۡأُولَىٰٓ

This [Prophet ()] is a warner from [i.e., like] the former warners.



Surata: AN-NAJM 

O versículo : 57

أَزِفَتِ ٱلۡأٓزِفَةُ

The Approaching Day has approached.



Surata: AN-NAJM 

O versículo : 58

لَيۡسَ لَهَا مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ كَاشِفَةٌ

Of it, [from those] besides AllŒh, there is no remover.



Surata: AN-NAJM 

O versículo : 59

أَفَمِنۡ هَٰذَا ٱلۡحَدِيثِ تَعۡجَبُونَ

Then at this statement do you wonder?



Surata: AN-NAJM 

O versículo : 60

وَتَضۡحَكُونَ وَلَا تَبۡكُونَ

And you laugh and do not weep



Surata: AN-NAJM 

O versículo : 61

وَأَنتُمۡ سَٰمِدُونَ

While you are proudly sporting?[1]


1- Additional meanings are "singing [with expanded chest]," "heedless," or "lost in vain amusements."


Surata: AN-NAJM 

O versículo : 62

فَٱسۡجُدُواْۤ لِلَّهِۤ وَٱعۡبُدُواْ۩

So prostrate to AllŒh and worship [Him].



Surata: AL‑QAMAR 

O versículo : 1

ٱقۡتَرَبَتِ ٱلسَّاعَةُ وَٱنشَقَّ ٱلۡقَمَرُ

The Hour has come near, and the moon has split [in two].[1]


1- This was a sign given by AllŒh to Prophet Muúammad () when the Quraysh challenged him to show them a miracle.


Surata: AL‑QAMAR 

O versículo : 2

وَإِن يَرَوۡاْ ءَايَةٗ يُعۡرِضُواْ وَيَقُولُواْ سِحۡرٞ مُّسۡتَمِرّٞ

And if they see a sign [i.e., miracle], they turn away and say, "Passing magic."[1]


1- Or "Continuing magic."


Surata: AL‑QAMAR 

O versículo : 3

وَكَذَّبُواْ وَٱتَّبَعُوٓاْ أَهۡوَآءَهُمۡۚ وَكُلُّ أَمۡرٖ مُّسۡتَقِرّٞ

And they denied and followed their inclinations. But for every matter is a [time of] settlement.



Surata: AL‑QAMAR 

O versículo : 4

وَلَقَدۡ جَآءَهُم مِّنَ ٱلۡأَنۢبَآءِ مَا فِيهِ مُزۡدَجَرٌ

And there has already come to them of information that in which there is deterrence.



Surata: AL‑QAMAR 

O versículo : 5

حِكۡمَةُۢ بَٰلِغَةٞۖ فَمَا تُغۡنِ ٱلنُّذُرُ

Extensive wisdom but warning does not avail [them].



Surata: AL‑QAMAR 

O versículo : 6

فَتَوَلَّ عَنۡهُمۡۘ يَوۡمَ يَدۡعُ ٱلدَّاعِ إِلَىٰ شَيۡءٖ نُّكُرٍ

So leave them, [O Muúammad]. The Day the Caller[1] calls to something forbidding,


1- Said to be an angel announcing the account and judgement.


Surata: AL‑QAMAR 

O versículo : 7

خُشَّعًا أَبۡصَٰرُهُمۡ يَخۡرُجُونَ مِنَ ٱلۡأَجۡدَاثِ كَأَنَّهُمۡ جَرَادٞ مُّنتَشِرٞ

Their eyes humbled, they will emerge from the graves as if they were locusts spreading,



Surata: AL‑QAMAR 

O versículo : 8

مُّهۡطِعِينَ إِلَى ٱلدَّاعِۖ يَقُولُ ٱلۡكَٰفِرُونَ هَٰذَا يَوۡمٌ عَسِرٞ

Racing ahead toward the Caller. The disbelievers will say, "This is a difficult Day."



Surata: AL‑QAMAR 

O versículo : 9

۞كَذَّبَتۡ قَبۡلَهُمۡ قَوۡمُ نُوحٖ فَكَذَّبُواْ عَبۡدَنَا وَقَالُواْ مَجۡنُونٞ وَٱزۡدُجِرَ

The people of Noah denied before them, and they denied Our servant and said, "A madman," and he was repelled.
