فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
Tarayya :
وَلِمَنۡ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِۦ جَنَّتَانِ
But for he who has feared the position of his Lord[1] are two gardens –
1- An alternative meaning is "the standing [for account] before his Lord."
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? –
ذَوَاتَآ أَفۡنَانٖ
Having [spreading] branches.
فِيهِمَا عَيۡنَانِ تَجۡرِيَانِ
In both of them are two springs, flowing.
فِيهِمَا مِن كُلِّ فَٰكِهَةٖ زَوۡجَانِ
In both of them are of every fruit, two kinds.
مُتَّكِـِٔينَ عَلَىٰ فُرُشِۭ بَطَآئِنُهَا مِنۡ إِسۡتَبۡرَقٖۚ وَجَنَى ٱلۡجَنَّتَيۡنِ دَانٖ
[They are] reclining on beds whose linings are of silk brocade, and the fruit of the two gardens is hanging low.
فِيهِنَّ قَٰصِرَٰتُ ٱلطَّرۡفِ لَمۡ يَطۡمِثۡهُنَّ إِنسٞ قَبۡلَهُمۡ وَلَا جَآنّٞ
In them are women limiting [their] glances,[1] untouched[2] before them by man or jinn¥ –
1- To their own mates, i.e., being chaste and modest.2- Literally, they have not been caused to bleed by loss of virginity.
كَأَنَّهُنَّ ٱلۡيَاقُوتُ وَٱلۡمَرۡجَانُ
As if they were rubies and coral.[1]
1- In purity, color and beauty.
هَلۡ جَزَآءُ ٱلۡإِحۡسَٰنِ إِلَّا ٱلۡإِحۡسَٰنُ
Is the reward for good [anything] but good?
وَمِن دُونِهِمَا جَنَّتَانِ
And below them both [in excellence] are two [other] gardens –
مُدۡهَآمَّتَانِ
Dark green [in color].
فِيهِمَا عَيۡنَانِ نَضَّاخَتَانِ
In both of them are two springs, spouting.
فِيهِمَا فَٰكِهَةٞ وَنَخۡلٞ وَرُمَّانٞ
In both of them are fruit and palm trees and pomegranates.
فِيهِنَّ خَيۡرَٰتٌ حِسَانٞ
In them are good and beautiful women –
حُورٞ مَّقۡصُورَٰتٞ فِي ٱلۡخِيَامِ
Fair ones reserved in pavilions –
لَمۡ يَطۡمِثۡهُنَّ إِنسٞ قَبۡلَهُمۡ وَلَا جَآنّٞ
Untouched before them by man or jinn¥ –
