And he has already seen him [i.e., Gabriel] in the clear horizon.[1]
1- i.e., the eastern horizon, where the sun rises. See footnote to 53:6
And he [i.e., Muúammad ()] is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen.[1]
1- Prophet Muúammad () did not withhold that knowledge of the unseen which AllŒh had revealed to him in the QurÕŒn.
And it [i.e., the QurÕŒn] is not the word of a devil, expelled [from the heavens].
So where are you going?[1]
1- In your denial of the QurÕŒn and in your accusations against the Prophet (). The meaning is essentially "Surely, you have strayed far from AllŒh's path."
It is not except a reminder to the worlds
For whoever wills among you to take a right course.
And you do not will except that AllŒh wills - Lord of the worlds.
When the sky breaks apart
And when the stars fall, scattering,
And when the seas are erupted
And when the [contents of] graves are scattered [i.e., exposed],
A soul will [then] know what it has put forth and kept back.
O mankind, what has deceived you concerning your Lord, the Generous,
Who created you, proportioned you, and balanced you?
In whatever form He willed has He assembled you.
No! But you deny the Recompense.
And indeed, [appointed] over you are keepers,[1]
1- Angels who preserve the deeds of men in records.
Noble and recording;
They know whatever you do.
Indeed, the righteous will be in pleasure,
And indeed, the wicked will be in Hellfire.
They will [enter to] burn therein on the Day of Recompense,
And never therefrom will they be absent.
And what can make you know what is the Day of Recompense?
Then, what can make you know what is the Day of Recompense?
It is the Day when a soul will not possess for another soul [power to do] a thing; and the command, that Day, is [entirely] with AllŒh.
Woe to those who give less [than due],[1]
1- i.e., those who cheat people by giving them less than what they paid for when weighing or measuring - an amount so little as to hardly be noticed.
Who, when they take a measure from people, take in full.
But if they give by measure or by weight to them, they cause loss.
Do they not think that they will be resurrected
