Surah: AL‑ḤAJJ

Ayah : 51

But the ones who strove against Our verses, [seeking] to cause failure[1] those are the companions of Hellfire.

1- i.e., trying to undermine their credibility and thereby defeat the Prophet ().

Surah: AN-NŪR

Ayah : 55

AllŒh has promised those who have believed among you and done righteous deeds that He will surely grant them succession [to authority] upon the earth just as He granted it to those before them and that He will surely establish for them [therein] their religion which He has preferred for them and that He will surely substitute for them, after their fear, security, [for] they worship Me, not associating anything with Me. But whoever disbelieves[1] after that then those are the defiantly disobedient.

1- i.e., denies the favor of AllŒh or does not live by His ordinance.

Surah: AL‑FURQĀN

Ayah : 22

The day they see the angels[1] no good tidings will there be that day for the criminals, and [the angels] will say, "Prevented and inaccessible."[2]

1- i.e., at the time of death.
2- Referring to any good tidings.

Surah: AL‑FURQĀN

Ayah : 23

And We will approach [i.e., regard][1] what they have done of deeds and make them as dust dispersed.

1- On the Day of Judgement.

Surah: AL‑QAṢAṢ

Ayah : 84

Whoever comes [on the Day of Judgement] with a good deed will have better than it; and whoever comes with an evil deed then those who did evil deeds will not be recompensed except [as much as] what they used to do.

Surah: AL‑‘ANKABŪT

Ayah : 6

And whoever strives only strives for [the benefit of] himself. Indeed, AllŒh is Free from need of the worlds.

Surah: AL‑‘ANKABŪT

Ayah : 7

And those who believe and do righteous deeds We will surely remove from them their misdeeds and will surely reward them according to the best of what they used to do.

Surah: AR-RŪM

Ayah : 41

Corruption has appeared throughout the land and sea by [reason of] what the hands of people have earned so He [i.e., AllŒh] may let them taste part of [the consequence of] what they have done that perhaps they will return [to righteousness].

Surah: AR-RŪM

Ayah : 42

Say, [O Muúammad], "Travel through the land and observe how was the end of those before. Most of them were associators [of others with AllŒh].

Surah: SABA’

Ayah : 5

But those who strive against Our verses [seeking] to cause failure[1] for them will be a painful punishment of foul nature.

1- i.e., to undermine their credibility in order to defeat the Prophet ().

Surah: SABA’

Ayah : 38

And the ones who strive against Our verses to cause [them] failure[1] those will be brought into the punishment [to remain].

1- See footnote to 34:5.

Surah: FĀṬIR

Ayah : 37

And they will cry out therein, "Our Lord, remove us;[1] we will do righteousness other than what we were doing!" But did We not grant you life enough for whoever would remember therein to remember, and the warner had come to you? So taste [the punishment], for there is not for the wrongdoers any helper.

1- The implication is "Return us to the previous world."

Surah: AZ-ZUMAR

Ayah : 70

And every soul will be fully compensated [for] what it did; and He is most knowing[1] of what they do.

1- With no need for any record or witnesses, which are but means to establish proof to the soul itself in addition to its own knowledge of what it has done.

Surah: GHĀFIR

Ayah : 40

Whoever does an evil deed will not be recompensed except by the like thereof; but whoever does righteousness, whether male or female, while he is a believer those will enter Paradise, being given provision therein without account.

Surah: AL‑JĀTHIYAH

Ayah : 33

And the evil consequences of what they did will appear to them, and they will be enveloped by what they used to ridicule.

Surah: AL‑AḤQĀF

Ayah : 16

Those are the ones from whom We will accept the best of what they did and overlook their misdeeds, [their being] among the companions of Paradise. [That is] the promise of truth which they had been promised.

Surah: AL‑AḤQĀF

Ayah : 19

And for all there are degrees [of reward and punishment] for what they have done, and [it is] so that He may fully compensate them for their deeds, and they will not be wronged.

Surah: AN-NAJM

Ayah : 31

And to AllŒh belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth that He may recompense those who do evil with [the penalty of] what they have done and recompense those who do good with the best [reward]
