Surata: AL‑BAQARAH

O versículo : 30

And [mention, O Muúammad], when your Lord said to the angels, "Indeed, I will make upon the earth a successive authority."[1] They said, "Will You place upon it one who causes corruption therein and sheds blood, while we exalt You with praise and declare Your perfection?"[2] He [AllŒh] said, "Indeed, I know that which you do not know."

1- Khal¥fah: successor, or generations of man, one following another.
2- An additional meaning is "...and we purify ourselves for You."

Surata: AL‑BAQARAH

O versículo : 31

And He taught Adam the names all of them. Then He showed them to the angels and said, "Inform Me of the names of these, if you are truthful."

Surata: AL‑BAQARAH

O versículo : 32

They said, "Exalted are You; we have no knowledge except what You have taught us. Indeed, it is You who is the Knowing,[1] the Wise."[2]

1- Whose eternal and absolute knowledge encompasses the truth and essence of all things, seen or unseen, present or absent, neither preceded by ignorance nor followed by forgetfulness.
2- Whose wisdom includes precise and perfect knowledge of all realities and outcomes, according to which He decrees and causes various circumstances and occurrences.

Surata: AL‑BAQARAH

O versículo : 33

He said, "O Adam, inform them of their names." And when he had informed them of their names, He said, "Did I not tell you that I know the unseen [aspects] of the heavens and the earth? And I know what you reveal and what you have concealed."

Surata: AL‑BAQARAH

O versículo : 34

And [mention] when We said to the angels, "Prostrate before Adam"; so they prostrated, except for Iblees.[1] He refused and was arrogant and became of the disbelievers.

1- The proper name of Satan, who was not an angel but from the jinn, as stated in 18:50 Done in obedience to AllŒh, this prostration was one of respect, not worship.

Surata: AL‑BAQARAH

O versículo : 97

Say, "Whoever is an enemy to Gabriel it is [none but] he who has brought it [i.e., the QurÕŒn] down upon your heart, [O Muúammad], by permission of AllŒh, confirming that which was before it and as guidance and good tidings for the believers."

Surata: AL‑BAQARAH

O versículo : 98

Whoever is an enemy to AllŒh and His angels and His messengers and Gabriel and Michael then indeed, AllŒh is an enemy to the disbelievers.

Surata: AL‑BAQARAH

O versículo : 102

And they followed [instead] what the devils had recited during the reign of Solomon. It was not Solomon who disbelieved, but the devils disbelieved, teaching people magic and that which was revealed to the two angels at Babylon, HŒr´t and MŒr´t. But they [i.e., the two angels] do not teach anyone unless they say, "We are a trial, so do not disbelieve [by practicing magic]."[1] And [yet] they learn from them that by which they cause separation between a man and his wife. But they do not harm anyone through it except by permission of AllŒh. And they [i.e., people] learn what harms them and does not benefit them. But they [i.e., the Children of Israel] certainly knew that whoever purchased it [i.e., magic] would not have in the Hereafter any share. And wretched is that for which they sold themselves, if they only knew.

1- They warn people against the misuse of what they have learned.

Surata: ĀLI ‘IMRĀN

O versículo : 80

Nor could he order you to take the angels and prophets as lords. Would he order you to disbelief after you had been Muslims?

Surata: ĀLI ‘IMRĀN

O versículo : 124

[Remember] when you said to the believers, "Is it not sufficient for you that your Lord should reinforce you with three thousand angels sent down?

Surata: ĀLI ‘IMRĀN

O versículo : 125

Yes, if you remain patient and conscious of AllŒh and they [i.e., the enemy] come upon you [attacking] in rage, your Lord will reinforce you with five thousand angels having marks [of distinction]."

Surata: AN-NISĀ’

O versículo : 97

Indeed, those whom the angels take [in death] while wronging themselves[1] [the angels] will say, "In what [condition] were you?" They will say, "We were oppressed in the land." They [the angels] will say, "Was not the earth of AllŒh spacious [enough] for you to emigrate therein?" For those, their refuge is Hell and evil it is as a destination.

1- By preferring to remain among the disbelievers, although they have the means to emigrate, in an environment where a Muslim is unable to practice his religion freely.

Surata: AL‑AN‘ĀM

O versículo : 93

And who is more unjust than one who invents a lie about AllŒh or says, "It has been inspired to me," while nothing has been inspired to him, and one who says, "I will reveal [something] like what AllŒh revealed." And if you could but see when the wrongdoers are in the overwhelming pangs of death while the angels extend their hands,[1] [saying], "Discharge your souls! Today you will be awarded the punishment of [extreme] humiliation for what you used to say against AllŒh other than the truth and [that] you were, toward His verses, being arrogant."

1- Striking them, as they are unwilling to give up their souls for judgement.

[Remember] when your Lord inspired to the angels, "I am with you, so strengthen those who have believed. I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieved, so strike [them] upon the necks and strike from them every fingertip."[1]

1- By which they grasp and manipulate their weapons. Also interpreted as "all extremities," i.e., their hands and feet.

Surata: AL‑ANFĀL

O versículo : 50

And if you could but see when the angels take the souls of those who disbelieved...[1] They are striking their faces and their backs and [saying], "Taste the punishment of the Burning Fire.

Surata: AL‑ANFĀL

O versículo : 51

That is for what your hands have put forth [of evil] and because AllŒh is not ever unjust to [His] servants."

Surata: HŪD

For him [i.e., each one] are successive [angels][1] before and behind him who protect him by the decree of AllŒh.[2] Indeed, AllŒh will not change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves. And when AllŒh intends for a people ill,[3] there is no repelling it. And there is not for them besides Him any patron.
