Surata: AL‑FATIḤAH

O versículo : 6

Guide us to the straight path

Surata: AL‑FATIḤAH

O versículo : 7

The path of those upon whom You have bestowed favor, not of those who have earned [Your] anger or of those who are astray.

Surata: AL‑BAQARAH

O versículo : 2

This is the Book about which there is no doubt, a guidance for those conscious of AllŒh[1]

1- Literally, "those who have taqwŒ," i.e., who have piety, righteousness, fear and love of AllŒh, and who take great care to avoid His displeasure.

Surata: AL‑BAQARAH

O versículo : 3

Who believe in the unseen, establish prayer,[1] and spend out of what We[2] have provided for them,

1- At its proper times and according to its specified conditions.
2- It is to be noted that the reference of AllŒh (subúŒnahu wa taÔŒlŒ) to Himself as "We" in many QurÕŒnic verses is necessarily understood in the Arabic language to denote grandeur and power, as opposed to the more intimate singular form "I" used in specific instances.

Surata: AL‑BAQARAH

O versículo : 4

And who believe in what has been revealed to you, [O Muúammad], and what was revealed before you, and of the Hereafter they are certain [in faith].

Surata: AL‑BAQARAH

O versículo : 5

Those are upon [right] guidance from their Lord, and it is those who are the successful.

Surata: AL‑BAQARAH

O versículo : 38

We said, "Go down from it, all of you. And when guidance comes to you from Me, whoever follows My guidance there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve.

Surata: AL‑BAQARAH

O versículo : 120

And never will the Jews and the Christians approve of you until you follow their religion. Say, "Indeed, the guidance of AllŒh is the [only] guidance." If you were to follow their desires after what has come to you of knowledge, you would have against AllŒh no protector or helper.

Surata: AL‑BAQARAH

O versículo : 136

Say, [O believers], "We have believed in AllŒh and what has been revealed to us and what has been revealed to Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac and Jacob and the Descendants [al-AsbŒ‹][1] and what was given to Moses and Jesus and what was given to the prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and we are Muslims [in submission] to Him."

1- The twelve tribes of Israel descended from Jacob.

Surata: AL‑BAQARAH

O versículo : 137

So if they believe in the same as you believe in, then they have been [rightly] guided; but if they turn away, they are only in dissension, and AllŒh will be sufficient for you against them. And He is the Hearing, the Knowing.

Surata: AL‑BAQARAH

O versículo : 138

[And say, "Ours is] the religion of AllŒh. And who is better than AllŒh in [ordaining] religion? And we are worshippers of Him."

Surata: AL‑BAQARAH

O versículo : 186

And when My servants ask you, [O Muúammad], concerning Me indeed I am near. I respond to the invocation of the supplicant when he calls upon Me. So let them respond to Me [by obedience] and believe in Me that they may be [rightly] guided.

Surata: AL‑BAQARAH

O versículo : 213

Mankind was [of] one religion [before their deviation]; then AllŒh sent the prophets as bringers of good tidings and warners and sent down with them the Scripture in truth to judge between the people concerning that in which they differed. And none differed over it [i.e., the Scripture] except those who were given it after the clear proofs came to them out of jealous animosity among themselves. And AllŒh guided those who believed to the truth concerning that over which they had differed, by His permission. And AllŒh guides whom He wills to a straight path.

Surata: AL‑BAQARAH

O versículo : 272

Not upon you, [O Muúammad], is [responsibility for] their guidance, but AllŒh guides whom He wills. And whatever good you [believers] spend is for yourselves, and you do not spend except seeking the face [i.e., approval] of AllŒh. And whatever you spend of good[1] it will be fully repaid to you, and you will not be wronged.

1- i.e., wealth, property, resources, time, effort, etc.

Surata: ĀLI ‘IMRĀN

O versículo : 20

So if they argue with you, say, "I have submitted myself to AllŒh [in IslŒm], and [so have] those who follow me." And say to those who were given the Scripture and [to] the unlearned,[1] "Have you submitted yourselves?" And if they submit [in IslŒm], they are rightly guided; but if they turn away then upon you is only the [duty of] notification. And AllŒh is Seeing of [His] servants.

1- Those who had no scripture (i.e., the pagans).

Surata: ĀLI ‘IMRĀN

O versículo : 73

And do not trust except those who follow your religion." Say, "Indeed, the [true] guidance is the guidance of AllŒh. [Do you fear] lest someone be given [knowledge] like you were given or that they would [thereby] argue with you before your Lord?" Say, "Indeed, [all] bounty is in the hand[1] of AllŒh He grants it to whom He wills. And AllŒh is all-Encompassing and Wise."

1- See footnote to 2:19

Surata: AN-NISĀ’

O versículo : 174

O mankind, there has come to you a conclusive proof from your Lord, and We have sent down to you a clear light.[1]

1- Showing the truth (i.e., the QurÕŒn).

Surata: AN-NISĀ’

O versículo : 175

So those who believe in AllŒh and hold fast to Him He will admit them to mercy from Himself and bounty and guide them to Himself on a straight path.

Surata: AL‑MĀ’IDAH

O versículo : 15

O People of the Scripture, there has come to you Our Messenger making clear to you much of what you used to conceal of the Scripture and overlooking much.[1] There has come to you from AllŒh a light and a clear Book [i.e., the QurÕŒn]

1- Of your sin in that regard.

Surata: AL‑MĀ’IDAH

O versículo : 16

By which AllŒh guides those who pursue His pleasure to the ways of peace[1] and brings them out from darknesses into the light, by His permission, and guides them to a straight path.

1- i.e., security, well-being, integrity and escape from Hellfire. Literally, "freedom from all evil."

Surata: AL‑AN‘ĀM

O versículo : 71

Say, "Shall we invoke[1] instead of AllŒh that which neither benefits us nor harms us and be turned back on our heels after AllŒh has guided us? [We would then be] like one whom the devils enticed [to wander] upon the earth confused, [while] he has companions inviting him to guidance, [calling], 'Come to us.'"[2] Say, "Indeed, the guidance of AllŒh is the [only] guidance; and we have been commanded to submit to the Lord of the worlds.

1- i.e., worship.
2- The example given is of one who has lost his way and is further confused by the evil ones who tempt him to follow various directions, all leading to destruction. Although his sincere friends call him back to the right path, he ignores them.

Surata: AL‑AN‘ĀM

O versículo : 88

That is the guidance of AllŒh by which He guides whomever He wills of His servants. But if they had associated others with AllŒh, then worthless for them would be whatever they were doing.

Surata: AL‑AN‘ĀM

O versículo : 89

Those are the ones to whom We gave the Scripture and authority and prophethood. But if they [i.e., the disbelievers] deny it, then We have entrusted it to a people who are not therein disbelievers.

Surata: AL‑AN‘ĀM

O versículo : 90

Those are the ones whom AllŒh has guided, so from their guidance take an example. Say, "I ask of you for it [i.e., this message] no payment. It is not but a reminder for the worlds."

Surata: AL‑AN‘ĀM

O versículo : 125

So whoever AllŒh wants to guide He expands his breast to [contain] IslŒm; and whoever He wants to send astray[1] He makes his breast tight and constricted as though he were climbing into the sky. Thus does AllŒh place defilement upon those who do not believe.

1- As a result of the person's arrogance and persistence in sin.

Surata: AL‑AN‘ĀM

O versículo : 149

Say, "With AllŒh is the far-reaching [i.e., conclusive] argument. If He had willed, He would have guided you all."

Surata: AL‑A‘RĀF

O versículo : 52

And We had certainly brought them a Book which We detailed by knowledge as guidance and mercy to a people who believe.

Surata: AT-TAWBAH

O versículo : 115

And AllŒh would not let a people stray after He has guided them until He makes clear to them what they should avoid. Indeed, AllŒh is Knowing of all things.

Surata: YŪNUS

O versículo : 25

And AllŒh invites to the Home of Peace [i.e., Paradise] and guides whom He wills to a straight path.

Surata: YŪNUS

O versículo : 35

Say, "Are there of your 'partners' any who guides to the truth?" Say, "AllŒh guides to the truth. So is He who guides to the truth more worthy to be followed or he who guides not unless he is guided? Then what is [wrong] with you how do you judge?"
