Sure: AL‑‘AADIYĀT 

Vers : 7

وَإِنَّهُۥ عَلَىٰ ذَٰلِكَ لَشَهِيدٞ

And indeed, he is to that a witness.[1]


1- Through his speech and his actions.


Sure: AL‑‘AADIYĀT 

Vers : 8

وَإِنَّهُۥ لِحُبِّ ٱلۡخَيۡرِ لَشَدِيدٌ

And indeed he is, in love of wealth, intense.



Sure: AL‑‘AADIYĀT 

Vers : 9

۞أَفَلَا يَعۡلَمُ إِذَا بُعۡثِرَ مَا فِي ٱلۡقُبُورِ

But does he not know that when the contents of the graves are scattered



Sure: AL‑‘AADIYĀT 

Vers : 10

وَحُصِّلَ مَا فِي ٱلصُّدُورِ

And that within the breasts is obtained,[1]


1- i.e., when all secrets are made known.


Sure: AL‑‘AADIYĀT 

Vers : 11

إِنَّ رَبَّهُم بِهِمۡ يَوۡمَئِذٖ لَّخَبِيرُۢ

Indeed, their Lord with them, that Day, is [fully] Aware.[1]


1- Fully acquainted and familiar with everything about each one of them.


Sure: AL‑QĀRI‘AH 

Vers : 1

ٱلۡقَارِعَةُ

The Striking Calamity



Sure: AL‑QĀRI‘AH 

Vers : 2

مَا ٱلۡقَارِعَةُ

What is the Striking Calamity?



Sure: AL‑QĀRI‘AH 

Vers : 3

وَمَآ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلۡقَارِعَةُ

And what can make you know what is the Striking Calamity?



Sure: AL‑QĀRI‘AH 

Vers : 4

يَوۡمَ يَكُونُ ٱلنَّاسُ كَٱلۡفَرَاشِ ٱلۡمَبۡثُوثِ

It is the Day when people will be like moths, dispersed,[1]


1- The people will be as such after having been expelled from their graves.


Sure: AL‑QĀRI‘AH 

Vers : 5

وَتَكُونُ ٱلۡجِبَالُ كَٱلۡعِهۡنِ ٱلۡمَنفُوشِ

And the mountains will be like wool, fluffed up.[1]


1- i.e., beginning to disintegrate.


Sure: AL‑QĀRI‘AH 

Vers : 6

فَأَمَّا مَن ثَقُلَتۡ مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ

Then as for one whose scales are heavy [with good deeds],



Sure: AL‑QĀRI‘AH 

Vers : 7

فَهُوَ فِي عِيشَةٖ رَّاضِيَةٖ

He will be in a pleasant life.



Sure: AL‑QĀRI‘AH 

Vers : 8

وَأَمَّا مَنۡ خَفَّتۡ مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ

But as for one whose scales are light,



Sure: AL‑QĀRI‘AH 

Vers : 9

فَأُمُّهُۥ هَاوِيَةٞ

His refuge[1] will be an abyss.[2]


1- Literally, "mother" (a man's original refuge) , which will envelop him as in an embrace.
2- i.e., the pit of Hellfire.


Sure: AL‑QĀRI‘AH 

Vers : 10

وَمَآ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا هِيَهۡ

And what can make you know what that is?



Sure: AL‑QĀRI‘AH 

Vers : 11

نَارٌ حَامِيَةُۢ

It is a Fire, intensely hot.



Sure: AT-TAKĀTHUR 

Vers : 1

أَلۡهَىٰكُمُ ٱلتَّكَاثُرُ

Competition in [worldly] increase diverts you



Sure: AT-TAKĀTHUR 

Vers : 2

حَتَّىٰ زُرۡتُمُ ٱلۡمَقَابِرَ

Until you visit the graveyards.[1]


1- i.e., remain in them temporarily, meaning until the Day of Resurrection.


Sure: AT-TAKĀTHUR 

Vers : 3

كَلَّا سَوۡفَ تَعۡلَمُونَ

No! You are going to know.



Sure: AT-TAKĀTHUR 

Vers : 4

ثُمَّ كَلَّا سَوۡفَ تَعۡلَمُونَ

Then, no! You are going to know.



Sure: AT-TAKĀTHUR 

Vers : 5

كَلَّا لَوۡ تَعۡلَمُونَ عِلۡمَ ٱلۡيَقِينِ

No! If you only knew with knowledge of certainty...[1]


1- The conclusion of this verse is estimated to be "...you would not have been distracted from preparing for the Hereafter."


Sure: AT-TAKĀTHUR 

Vers : 6

لَتَرَوُنَّ ٱلۡجَحِيمَ

You will surely see the Hellfire.



Sure: AT-TAKĀTHUR 

Vers : 7

ثُمَّ لَتَرَوُنَّهَا عَيۡنَ ٱلۡيَقِينِ

Then you will surely see it with the eye of certainty.[1]


1- i.e., with actual eyesight.


Sure: AT-TAKĀTHUR 

Vers : 8

ثُمَّ لَتُسۡـَٔلُنَّ يَوۡمَئِذٍ عَنِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ

Then you will surely be asked that Day about pleasure.[1]


1- i.e., the comforts of worldly life and whether you were grateful to AllŒh for His blessings.


Sure: AL‑‘AṢR 

Vers : 1

وَٱلۡعَصۡرِ

By time,[1]


1- An oath in which AllŒh swears by time throughout the ages.


Sure: AL‑‘AṢR 

Vers : 2

إِنَّ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ لَفِي خُسۡرٍ

Indeed, mankind is in loss,



Sure: AL‑‘AṢR 

Vers : 3

إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَٰتِ وَتَوَاصَوۡاْ بِٱلۡحَقِّ وَتَوَاصَوۡاْ بِٱلصَّبۡرِ

Except for those who have believed and done righteous deeds and advised each other to truth and advised each other to patience.



Sure: AL‑HUMAZAH 

Vers : 1

وَيۡلٞ لِّكُلِّ هُمَزَةٖ لُّمَزَةٍ

Woe to every scorner and mocker



Sure: AL‑HUMAZAH 

Vers : 2

ٱلَّذِي جَمَعَ مَالٗا وَعَدَّدَهُۥ

Who collects wealth and [continuously] counts it.[1]


1- Rather than spending in the way of AllŒh.


Sure: AL‑HUMAZAH 

Vers : 3

يَحۡسَبُ أَنَّ مَالَهُۥٓ أَخۡلَدَهُۥ

He thinks that his wealth will make him immortal.
