Sure: AL‑BAQARAH

Vers : 235

There is no blame upon you for that to which you [indirectly] allude concerning a proposal to women or for what you conceal within yourselves. AllŒh knows that you will have them in mind. But do not promise them secretly except for saying a proper saying. And do not determine to undertake a marriage contract until the decreed period[1] reaches its end. And know that AllŒh knows what is within yourselves, so beware of Him. And know that AllŒh is Forgiving and Forbearing.

1- The Ôiddah (bereavement period) after the death of a husband.

Sure: AL‑BAQARAH

Vers : 263

Kind speech and forgiveness are better than charity followed by injury. And AllŒh is Free of need and Forbearing.

Sure: ĀLI ‘IMRĀN

Vers : 155

Indeed, those of you who turned back on the day the two armies met [at Uúud] it was Satan who caused them to slip because of some [blame] they had earned. But AllŒh has already forgiven them. Indeed, AllŒh is Forgiving and Forbearing.

Sure: AN-NISĀ’

Vers : 12

And for you is half of what your wives leave if they have no child. But if they have a child, for you is one fourth of what they leave, after any bequest they [may have] made or debt. And for them [i.e., the wives] is one fourth if you leave no child. But if you leave a child, then for them is an eighth of what you leave, after any bequest you [may have] made or debt. And if a man or woman leaves neither ascendants nor descendants but has a brother or a sister, then for each one of them is a sixth. But if they are more than two, they share a third,[1] after any bequest which was made or debt, as long as there is no detriment [caused].[2] [This is] an ordinance from AllŒh, and AllŒh is Knowing and Forbearing.

1- These shares are divided equally between males and females.
2- This is a condition for any bequest. If it has been violated by the deceased, his bequest is not to be honored, or it may be adjusted by the executor. See 2:182.

Sure: AL‑MĀ’IDAH

Vers : 101

O you who have believed, do not ask about things which, if they are shown to you, will distress you. But if you ask about them while the QurÕŒn is being revealed, they will be shown to you. AllŒh has pardoned it [i.e., that which is past]; and AllŒh is Forgiving and Forbearing.

Sure: YŪNUS

Vers : 11

And if AllŒh was to hasten for the people the evil [they invoke][1] as He hastens for them the good, their term would have been ended for them.[2] But We leave the ones who do not expect the meeting with Us, in their transgression, wandering blindly.

1- In anger or in heedlessness.
2- i.e., AllŒh would have destroyed them on account of that.

Sure: AN-NAḤL

Vers : 61

And if AllŒh were to impose blame on the people for their wrongdoing, He would not have left upon it [i.e., the earth] any creature, but He defers them for a specified term. And when their term has come, they will not remain behind an hour, nor will they precede [it].

Sure: AL‑ISRĀ’

Vers : 44

The seven heavens and the earth and whatever is in them exalt Him. And there is not a thing except that it exalts [AllŒh] by His praise, but you do not understand their [way of] exalting. Indeed, He is ever Forbearing[1] and Forgiving.

1- Refer to footnote in 2:225.

Sure: AL‑KAHF

Vers : 58

And your Lord is the Forgiving, the possessor of mercy. If He were to impose blame upon them for what they earned, He would have hastened for them the punishment. Rather, for them is an appointment from which they will never find an escape.

Sure: AL‑ḤAJJ

Vers : 59

He will surely cause them to enter an entrance with which they will be pleased, and indeed, AllŒh is Knowing and Forbearing.

Sure: AL‑AḤZĀB

Vers : 51

You, [O Muúammad], may put aside whom you will of them[1] or take to yourself whom you will. And any that you desire of those [wives] from whom you had [temporarily] separated there is no blame upon you [in returning her]. That is more suitable that they should be content and not grieve and that they should be satisfied with what you have given them all of them. And AllŒh knows what is in your hearts. And ever is AllŒh Knowing and Forbearing.

1- Those mentioned in the previous verse as being lawful to the Prophet () or his wives to which he was married.

Sure: FĀṬIR

Vers : 41

Indeed, AllŒh holds the heavens and the earth, lest they cease. And if they should cease, no one could hold them [in place] after Him. Indeed, He is Forbearing[1] and Forgiving.

1- Refer to footnote in 2:225.

Sure: FĀṬIR

Vers : 45

And if AllŒh were to impose blame on the people for what they have earned, He would not leave upon it [i.e., the earth] any creature. But He defers them for a specified term. And when their time comes, then indeed AllŒh has ever been, of His servants, Seeing.

Sure: AT-TAGHĀBUN

Vers : 17

If you loan AllŒh a goodly loan, He will multiply it for you and forgive you. And AllŒh is [most] Appreciative[1] and Forbearing,[2]
