الشَّرۡحِ Ash-Sharú 1 الآية :

أَلَمۡ نَشۡرَحۡ لَكَ صَدۡرَكَ

Did We not expand for you, [O Muúammad], your breast?[1]

1- i.e., enlighten, assure and gladden your heart with guidance.


الشَّرۡحِ Ash-Sharú 2 الآية :

وَوَضَعۡنَا عَنكَ وِزۡرَكَ

And We removed from you your burden[1]

1- By forgiving any errors which you may have committed previously or might commit consequently. "Burden" can also refer to the anxiety experienced by the Prophet () at the beginning of his mission.


الشَّرۡحِ Ash-Sharú 3 الآية :

ٱلَّذِيٓ أَنقَضَ ظَهۡرَكَ

Which had weighed upon your back


الشَّرۡحِ Ash-Sharú 4 الآية :

وَرَفَعۡنَا لَكَ ذِكۡرَكَ

And raised high for you your repute.


الشَّرۡحِ Ash-Sharú 5 الآية :

فَإِنَّ مَعَ ٱلۡعُسۡرِ يُسۡرًا

For indeed, with hardship [will be] ease [i.e., relief].


الشَّرۡحِ Ash-Sharú 6 الآية :

إِنَّ مَعَ ٱلۡعُسۡرِ يُسۡرٗا

Indeed, with hardship [will be] ease.


الشَّرۡحِ Ash-Sharú 7 الآية :

فَإِذَا فَرَغۡتَ فَٱنصَبۡ

So when you have finished [your duties], then stand up [for worship].


الشَّرۡحِ Ash-Sharú 8 الآية :

وَإِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ فَٱرۡغَب

And to your Lord direct [your] longing.
