المُطَفِّفِينَ Al-Mu‹affifeen 1 الآية :

وَيۡلٞ لِّلۡمُطَفِّفِينَ

Woe to those who give less [than due],[1]

1- i.e., those who cheat people by giving them less than what they paid for when weighing or measuring - an amount so little as to hardly be noticed.


المُطَفِّفِينَ Al-Mu‹affifeen 2 الآية :

ٱلَّذِينَ إِذَا ٱكۡتَالُواْ عَلَى ٱلنَّاسِ يَسۡتَوۡفُونَ

Who, when they take a measure from people, take in full.


المُطَفِّفِينَ Al-Mu‹affifeen 3 الآية :

وَإِذَا كَالُوهُمۡ أَو وَّزَنُوهُمۡ يُخۡسِرُونَ

But if they give by measure or by weight to them, they cause loss.


المُطَفِّفِينَ Al-Mu‹affifeen 4 الآية :

أَلَا يَظُنُّ أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ أَنَّهُم مَّبۡعُوثُونَ

Do they not think that they will be resurrected


المُطَفِّفِينَ Al-Mu‹affifeen 5 الآية :

لِيَوۡمٍ عَظِيمٖ

For a tremendous Day -


المُطَفِّفِينَ Al-Mu‹affifeen 6 الآية :

يَوۡمَ يَقُومُ ٱلنَّاسُ لِرَبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ

The Day when mankind will stand before the Lord of the worlds?


المُطَفِّفِينَ Al-Mu‹affifeen 7 الآية :

كَلَّآ إِنَّ كِتَٰبَ ٱلۡفُجَّارِ لَفِي سِجِّينٖ

No! Indeed, the record of the wicked is in sijjeen.


المُطَفِّفِينَ Al-Mu‹affifeen 8 الآية :

وَمَآ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا سِجِّينٞ

And what can make you know what is sijjeen?


المُطَفِّفِينَ Al-Mu‹affifeen 9 الآية :

كِتَٰبٞ مَّرۡقُومٞ

It is [their destination[1] recorded in] a register inscribed.

1- The lowest depths of Hell.


المُطَفِّفِينَ Al-Mu‹affifeen 10 الآية :

وَيۡلٞ يَوۡمَئِذٖ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ

Woe, that Day, to the deniers,


المُطَفِّفِينَ Al-Mu‹affifeen 11 الآية :

ٱلَّذِينَ يُكَذِّبُونَ بِيَوۡمِ ٱلدِّينِ

Who deny the Day of Recompense.


المُطَفِّفِينَ Al-Mu‹affifeen 12 الآية :

وَمَا يُكَذِّبُ بِهِۦٓ إِلَّا كُلُّ مُعۡتَدٍ أَثِيمٍ

And none deny it except every sinful transgressor.


المُطَفِّفِينَ Al-Mu‹affifeen 13 الآية :

إِذَا تُتۡلَىٰ عَلَيۡهِ ءَايَٰتُنَا قَالَ أَسَٰطِيرُ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ

When Our verses are recited to him, he says, "Legends of the former peoples."


المُطَفِّفِينَ Al-Mu‹affifeen 14 الآية :

كَلَّاۖ بَلۡۜ رَانَ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِم مَّا كَانُواْ يَكۡسِبُونَ

No! Rather, the stain has covered their hearts of that which they were earning.[1]

1- i.e., their sins.


المُطَفِّفِينَ Al-Mu‹affifeen 15 الآية :

كَلَّآ إِنَّهُمۡ عَن رَّبِّهِمۡ يَوۡمَئِذٖ لَّمَحۡجُوبُونَ

No! Indeed, from their Lord, that Day, they will be partitioned.[1]

1- i.e., they will not be able to see Him.


المُطَفِّفِينَ Al-Mu‹affifeen 16 الآية :

ثُمَّ إِنَّهُمۡ لَصَالُواْ ٱلۡجَحِيمِ

Then indeed, they will [enter and] burn in Hellfire.


المُطَفِّفِينَ Al-Mu‹affifeen 17 الآية :

ثُمَّ يُقَالُ هَٰذَا ٱلَّذِي كُنتُم بِهِۦ تُكَذِّبُونَ

Then it will be said [to them], "This is what you used to deny."


المُطَفِّفِينَ Al-Mu‹affifeen 18 الآية :

كَلَّآ إِنَّ كِتَٰبَ ٱلۡأَبۡرَارِ لَفِي عِلِّيِّينَ

No! Indeed, the record of the righteous is in Ôilliyy´n.


المُطَفِّفِينَ Al-Mu‹affifeen 19 الآية :

وَمَآ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا عِلِّيُّونَ

And what can make you know what is Ôilliyy´n?


المُطَفِّفِينَ Al-Mu‹affifeen 20 الآية :

كِتَٰبٞ مَّرۡقُومٞ

It is [their destination[1] recorded in] a register inscribed

1- The highest elevations of Paradise.


المُطَفِّفِينَ Al-Mu‹affifeen 21 الآية :

يَشۡهَدُهُ ٱلۡمُقَرَّبُونَ

Which is witnessed by those brought near [to AllŒh].


المُطَفِّفِينَ Al-Mu‹affifeen 22 الآية :

إِنَّ ٱلۡأَبۡرَارَ لَفِي نَعِيمٍ

Indeed, the righteous will be in pleasure


المُطَفِّفِينَ Al-Mu‹affifeen 23 الآية :

عَلَى ٱلۡأَرَآئِكِ يَنظُرُونَ

On adorned couches, observing.


المُطَفِّفِينَ Al-Mu‹affifeen 24 الآية :

تَعۡرِفُ فِي وُجُوهِهِمۡ نَضۡرَةَ ٱلنَّعِيمِ

You will recognize in their faces the radiance of pleasure.


المُطَفِّفِينَ Al-Mu‹affifeen 25 الآية :

يُسۡقَوۡنَ مِن رَّحِيقٖ مَّخۡتُومٍ

They will be given to drink [pure] wine[1] [which was] sealed.

1- Which is delicious and does not intoxicate.


المُطَفِّفِينَ Al-Mu‹affifeen 26 الآية :

خِتَٰمُهُۥ مِسۡكٞۚ وَفِي ذَٰلِكَ فَلۡيَتَنَافَسِ ٱلۡمُتَنَٰفِسُونَ

The last of it[1] is musk. So for this let the competitors compete.

1- i.e., its lingering odor.


المُطَفِّفِينَ Al-Mu‹affifeen 27 الآية :

وَمِزَاجُهُۥ مِن تَسۡنِيمٍ

And its mixture is of Tasneem,[1]

1- The highest spring in Paradise and the most favored drink of its inhabitants.


المُطَفِّفِينَ Al-Mu‹affifeen 28 الآية :

عَيۡنٗا يَشۡرَبُ بِهَا ٱلۡمُقَرَّبُونَ

A spring from which those near [to AllŒh] drink.


المُطَفِّفِينَ Al-Mu‹affifeen 29 الآية :

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ أَجۡرَمُواْ كَانُواْ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ يَضۡحَكُونَ

Indeed, those who committed crimes used to laugh at those who believed.


المُطَفِّفِينَ Al-Mu‹affifeen 30 الآية :

وَإِذَا مَرُّواْ بِهِمۡ يَتَغَامَزُونَ

And when they passed by them, they would exchange derisive glances.
