الشرح Ash-Sharh 1 الآية :

أَلَمۡ نَشۡرَحۡ لَكَ صَدۡرَكَ

Did We not expand for you, [O Muúammad], your breast?[1]

1- i.e., enlighten, assure and gladden your heart with guidance.

الشرح Ash-Sharh 2 الآية :

وَوَضَعۡنَا عَنكَ وِزۡرَكَ

And We removed from you your burden[1]

1- By forgiving any errors which you may have committed previously or might commit consequently. "Burden" can also refer to the anxiety experienced by the Prophet (^) at the beginning of his mission.

الشرح Ash-Sharh 3 الآية :

ٱلَّذِيٓ أَنقَضَ ظَهۡرَكَ

Which had weighed upon your back

الشرح Ash-Sharh 4 الآية :

وَرَفَعۡنَا لَكَ ذِكۡرَكَ

And raised high for you your repute.

الشرح Ash-Sharh 5 الآية :

فَإِنَّ مَعَ ٱلۡعُسۡرِ يُسۡرًا

For indeed, with hardship [will be] ease [i.e., relief].

الشرح Ash-Sharh 6 الآية :

إِنَّ مَعَ ٱلۡعُسۡرِ يُسۡرٗا

Indeed, with hardship [will be] ease.

الشرح Ash-Sharh 7 الآية :

فَإِذَا فَرَغۡتَ فَٱنصَبۡ

So when you have finished [your duties], then stand up [for worship].

الشرح Ash-Sharh 8 الآية :

وَإِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ فَٱرۡغَب

And to your Lord direct [your] longing.
